I have been using this balm on my hands which had become cracked and sore. The scent is quite mild. This may sound a little strange but it has a kind of woody or paper smell to it. That sounds worse than it is, its actually quite a nice smell. It really does do a good job of moisturising my skin, it feels really soft after I put it on. The balm is quite thick and you don't need a lot, so I think the pot is going to last me ages. As its thick it takes a little longer than a cream to rub in properly but I like it.It seems to be well made. Given the size of the pot and the fact a little goes a long way I think its pretty good value for money.
Rok is a range targetted at guys, but I was interested to try it as a very rich, vegetable oil/butters blend without any unpleasant chemistry to use as a moisturiser for area of skin which might get particularly dry, like soles of feet, or hands.I'm not quite sure why the need to add a couple of lab synthesised perfume ingredients was added (coumarin, alpha-Hexylcinnamaldehyde) were added) perhaps to tone down the oily/creamy aroma of those vegetable butters but I absolutely appreciate that THIS company lists those odour molecules. Though both odour molecules do occur naturally in some essential oils, their presence here must be from synthetic isolates, otherwise the botanical listing of specific essential oils would have been listed as ingredients.Anyways, this is a nicely absorbing, gentle and effective body balm, and clear thought has been put into packaging which recycles rather than is destined for landfillI was a little surpised that the labels on the tin did not list the ingredients, but perhaps ROK only sell online, or their product is boxed when sold retail, as ingredients should always be disclosed at point of sale. ROK, (unlike many other skincare companies) do the proper thing on the product page, by fully listing their ingredients.
