Sea salt spray is the closest thing to bottled "just came back from the beach" hair. It builds loose waves, grip and matte texture with barely any effort β but used wrong, it leaves hair crunchy and dry. Here's how we use it in the chair.
What it does
Salt spray adds texture and separation and gives a natural, un-styled finish. It's a texture product, not a strong-hold one β great alone for a lived-in look, and brilliant as a base before a clay.
Who it's for
Anyone wanting effortless waves β men after tousled texture, longer hair needing body, wavy hair that wants enhancing. Straight, fine hair gets great grip; thick or curly hair can define what's already there.
How to use it β step by step
- Start on damp, towel-dried hair (the one product that goes on wet, not dry).
- Spritz 2β4 pumps through mid-lengths and ends β keep it off the scalp.
- Scrunch with your hands, or twist sections, to encourage the wave.
- Air-dry, or rough-dry with a diffuser for more volume.
- Break it up with your fingers; add a touch of The Clay to lock a piece in.
Common mistakes
Using too much (salt can dry hair out), spraying the roots (grease, not lift), and expecting strong hold (that's a clay's job).
Our Salt Spray is 100% vegan and handmade in Britain for a natural, tousled finish, with a subtle, clean scent β slightly warm, with vanilla notes β that doesn't shout over whatever else you wear.
FAQ
Does sea salt spray damage your hair?
Used in moderation, no β but salt can be drying if overused, so a few pumps is plenty and condition regularly.
Can I use it on dry hair?
It works best on damp hair; on dry hair you'll get grit and texture but less wave.
Is it just for men?
No β it's for any hair that wants loose, natural texture.
